X-33 Flight Profile
The X-33 will launch from Haystack Butte at Edwards Air Force Base in California and land at one of two test sites. The vehicle is processed
horizontally within a translating shelter, rotated to the vertical position, and then launched. Upon landing the X-33 is returned to the launch site via overland transport.
Time between the X-33 test flights will normally be seven days. However, the X-33 program will demonstrate a two-day turnaround between flights during the flight-test phase. For more information about NASA's plan for space transportation technology, click here. |
